Focused Therapy Intensives

When insight hasn’t been enough, it’s time for a different kind of work.

Ready to give something more than an hour here and there?

You’ve carried this long enough to know that insight alone hasn’t shifted it.

Meeting twice or three times a week gives us space to notice the pattern as it happens, work with your nervous system, and practice a different response.

Meeting for a 3 hour Immersion allows us to stay with it. You have options.

Weekly therapy isn't always the right answer.

You run a tight schedule, hold a high bar, and have zero patience for wasted time. Showing up once a week to circle the same ground, then stopping right when it gets real, isn't how you operate anywhere else in your life. Why would therapy be the exception?

You’re done making room for the problem. You’re ready to make room for the work.

You can name the pattern. You may even know where it started.

But when the pressure is on, your body still goes on alert, you shut down, or you find yourself having the same conversation you promised you wouldn’t have again.

You might be here because:

  • You hold it together all day, then feel anxious, reactive, or completely depleted at home.

  • You’ve talked about the same relationship pattern for months, but keep getting pulled back into it.

  • A memory or experience still has a grip on you, even though you know it’s over.

  • You’re tired of spending the first half of a weekly session catching up and the second half getting close to the work.

An intensive is a decision to give this your attention two or three times a week. We’ll focus on the pattern that keeps interrupting your life and do the work you’ve been ready to do.

You might be a good fit if:

  • Weekly sessions move too slowly for what you're carrying

  • Something specific has reached a breaking point and waiting is no longer an option

  • Your schedule doesn't leave room for an ongoing weekly commitment

  • You want real movement now, not eventually

Maybe you're the one everyone else leans on, and the cost of that role is starting to show up in your closest relationships.

Maybe your personal life is quietly pulling focus from the demands of running something that depends on you.

Or maybe you're just done carrying something and ready to put it down.

An intensive is built for all of it.

Why an intensive instead of weekly sessions?

A standard 50-minute session spends its first few minutes settling in and its last few minutes wrapping up, which doesn't leave much room for real depth. An intensive removes that stop-start rhythm entirely. You clear a block of time, go all the way in, and leave with something that actually moved.

With my approach which includes, Gestalt, EMDR, somatic work, brainspotting, and a polyvagal-informed approach, we work with what your nervous system is actually holding, not just what you can describe out loud. We address what and how to change what no longer serves you or is interfering with your relationships, career, stress. These approaches reach places talk alone often can't, and they do it in a fraction of the time.

HOW INTENSIVE THERAPY WORKS

Why Therapy Intensives Work?

Therapy intensives get you results faster because they don't stop and start every week. Instead of an hour here, an hour there, you set aside a real block of time and do the deep work in one continuous push. It's an in depth, research-backed approach, built entirely around you: your goals,  your focus.

What is The Process?

Intensives have a series of sessions and session types.

Initial Consultation: We start with a 15-minute consultation call. It’s a genuine conversation to determine whether this is the right fit for you and whether I’m the right person to support you. This isn’t a sales call.

Pre-Intake/Onboarding:

You will receive information via email to complete a detailed intake packet sharing about your background, current challenges, and goals. This is to be completed well before the Intake Session.

Intake Session:

We meet for an intake session to review the intake packet and any additional information and create a detailed plan. We will determine goals and outcome measures to ensure we can track your progress.

Plan:

I will create a customized plan detailing the types of therapy approaches we will utilize to help you achieve your goals and deep healing. Modalities I prefer for the intensive work include Gestalt, CBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Inner child, Guided Imagery, NLP.

Focused Intensive Session(s):

We will meet for the selected number of sessions. They take place online anywhere in CO, TX, NM, FL, SC. (Or In person if an in-person Immersion is booked. Details are provided)

Integration and Review Session:

To measure your progress, debrief, and ensure you feel well-equipped to move forward into daily life, we will meet for an Integration and Review Session.

Can i extend my intensive?

Yes, you can extend your intensive. You may also select a series of individual weekly sessions to work with the integration piece or address a new target. Due to the nature of my work and how I set my schedule, we may need to shuffle times as I plan my calendar far in advance with intensives.

SAMPLE FOCUS AREAS

Nervous System Intensive

You’re always bracing for something, or you’ve been running on empty for so long that rest doesn’t seem to help. We’ll work with how your system responds to stress, including the moments you go into overdrive or shut down.

Insight to Action Intensive

You can name the pattern. You may even know where it came from. Yet in a relationship, at work, or when you need to speak up, you find yourself doing it again. We’ll work on what happens in that moment so insight can become a different response.

Focused EMDR Intensive

An experience may be over, but something about it still gets triggered in the present. After assessing whether EMDR is a good fit, we’ll focus our work on the memory or pattern that continues to affect you.

You may already understand a great deal about yourself.

You can see the pattern, recognize when it starts, and still find yourself back in it.

Or something has shifted recently, and you want to give it your full attention now.

This is a concentrated time of focused therapy. We meet two or three times a week for four weeks, working on one area you want to change. The sessions are close enough together to stay with what comes up, notice what happens in your life between appointments, and adjust the work as we go.

Your intensive may focus on a nervous system that rarely settles, a relationship with alcohol you want to change, or a familiar pattern that insight alone hasn’t shifted. We’ll decide together whether this format fits your needs.

I bring more than 22 years of clinical experience to this work, including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Trauma and addiction treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings since 2004.

About Pamela Dobbie

I'm Pam Dobbie, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 22 years in practice, licensed in Texas, Florida, South Carolina, New Mexico, and Colorado. My work draws on EMDR, somatic therapy, neurofeedback, and a polyvagal-informed approach, because real change happens in the nervous system, not just in conversation. Before this, I spent years producing film and television, so I recognize a low tolerance for wasted time when I see one. Sessions are focused, direct, and built to get you somewhere, not just talk about getting there.

Change is possible, and it can happen fast.
